PLAY SUNDOG (Atari ST) ON YOUR PALM

Want to play Sundog (Atari ST version) on your Palm of Sony PSP? I just discovered how, so I'll share my discovery here.

First, you need to install CaSTaway Atari ST Emulator on your palm. I will post the link to the website instead of a direct download link, since there's lot of information on the webpage that will be helpful. http://www.codejedi.com/shadowplan/castaway.html

I downloaded version 1.1.2, and it works great. Please note the Palm system requirements - the runtime RAM (not storage RAM) requirements will prevent the emulator from working on some Palm devices, though you can expand your runtime RAM with UDMH: http://palmpowerups.com/readarticle.php?article_id=8. I did not need this for my Palm TX....  BUT... I had to reset the device to clean out the RAM - the first time I tried to run CaSTaway I got an error for not having enough free runtime RAM. If you get this error, reset the device so you have a fresh start and try again.

Next, you need Sundog! (or any other Atari emulator .st file). sundog_plus_tos.zip This ZIP contains both the sundog.st file and TOS 1.4. The TOS has been renamed to TOS.IMG, which is what the emulator requires. Read Castaway's documentation to ensure that both files are in the proper place on your device.

That should be it - just run CaSTaway and it's fairly easy to use. I found that only the default screen view worked well for me, but depending on your device you might get the widescreen to work right. Also, under MODE, I found the MOUSE TAP / MOUSE PUSH mode seemed most natural for me, since you can just tap and make the character run after the mouse.

Here are two (horrible) photos I took of the emulator in action on my Palm TX. Trust me - it looks vastly better on the screen!!
